LIGHTHOUSE

Following the successful cladding refurbishment of Pall Mall House on Church St, Manchester,  we were approached by the buildings freeholder to inspect and review consultants reports  with regards to defective cladding on the adjacent building The Lighthouse. It was clear that a substantial external wall cladding remediation was required.

Liaising with the clients appointed Contract Administrator, Architect and Fire Engineer, intrusive surveys were carried out to establish a robust remedial specification to replace the existing timber and aluminium cladding, balcony decking and dividers.

The 19 storey building towers over all adjacent buildings and is landlocked between them and the public highway of Joiner Street and Birchin Lane, making the remedial works a major logistical challenge. Envirosips liased with the local authority to agree strategic road closures throughout the duration of the scheme, keeping distruption to a minimum.

Site works commenced in 2021 removing the combustible materials and replacing with none combustible through wall system solutions including aluminim PPC plank system, PPC panel system and Anodised aluminium panel system on the main tower, complete with the backing wall, insulation and fire breaks throughout.

The project was completed in 2023.
