THE RED BUILDING

Envirosips have been awarded repeat business, to carry out facade remediation and roofing works at the Red Building.

Under the Building Safety Act 2022 this building is classified as a HRB (High Risk Building), as it is over 7 storeys / 18m in height and contains more that two residential units. Therefore there are obligations imposed under the HRB Regulations including Gateway 2 building control approval via the Building Safety Regulator, which must be granted before commencement of works on site.

We have carried out an extensive intrusive survey of the existing external walls and structure to allow us to fully design the replacement of the facades. The facades consist of render, terracotta tiling and aluinium profiling. The roof is single ply with a green roof above which is being redesigned completely with an alternative layout and drainage strategy. Design works are completed and full Gateway 2 application has been presented to the Building Safety Regulator for approval. Once approved works can commence on the 47 week project.
